As a tribute to the United States’ upcoming 250th anniversary, the Clark County Office of Public Arts has officially opened a call for creators to participate in a landmark showcase titled Expressions of Clark County. This inclusive exhibition invites artists and performers of all ages—from eight years old to adults—to reflect on the nation’s historical journey, engage with our current moment, and imagine the possibilities of the future. Whether working in traditional mediums like painting and sculpture or dynamic forms such as dance, music, and spoken word, local creators are encouraged to share their unique perspectives on the American experience.
The exhibition is scheduled to run from June 8 through July 16 at the Rotunda Gallery, located within the Clark County Government Center. To participate, artists must submit their work by the May 10 deadline via the official online portal. Performance-based entries, such as theater or music, should be submitted as audio or video recordings to be considered for the exhibit. This initiative not only highlights the diverse talent within the county but also offers significant rewards; the "Best in Show" winner will receive a $300 Desert Art Supplies gift certificate, while two honorable mentions will each receive $150 certificates.
Community engagement will culminate in a special reception on July 16, providing a public forum for artists to discuss their work with residents. During this event, up to three selected performance groups will have the opportunity to showcase their talents live, with each group receiving a $200 stipend for their contribution. By fostering these creative collaborations, the Public Arts Office continues its mission to enrich public spaces and celebrate the diverse spirit of a county that serves millions of citizens and visitors alike.
