Join the Fun at Smokey Bear's Family fire Safety Day!



Clark County is teaming up with local, state, and federal fire agencies to host Smokey Bear’s Family Fire Safety Day. This free, family-friendly event is designed to teach the Southern Nevada community about wildfire prevention and home safety through fun, hands-on activities.

Activities & Highlights

The morning will be filled with high-energy activities for all ages. Visitors can:

  • Meet Smokey Bear: Take photos with the iconic wildfire prevention mascot.
  • Gear Up: Try on real firefighting gear and explore modern fire engines.
  • Practice Safety: Participate in a simulated house fire to practice life-saving escape techniques.
  • Explore the Park: Use the Wetlands Park Navigator app to take the brand-new WP Wildfire Walking Tour.
  • Win Prizes: Enjoy interactive games and event giveaways.

At 12 p.m., a guest firefighter from the Wildland Fire Service will give a special presentation titled “Wildfires in Southern Nevada and what we are doing about them,” offering insights into protecting personal property and public lands.

About Clark County Wetlands Park

As one of the largest urban wetlands in the Southwest, the park is home to over 300 species of birds and 70 species of mammals and reptiles. While the event ends at 1 p.m., the Nature Center remains open until 3 p.m., and the outdoor park areas are open until dusk.
