Winchester Cultural Center
3130 McLeod Dr Las Vegas
Winchester Dondero Cultural Center was dedicated on August 4, 1982 as a community center that nine years later became the only Cultural Center for Clark County. The name Dondero was added to the center, after a building expansion in 2018, to honor late Commissioner Thalia Dondero, who was instrumental in acquiring the 8.9-acre parcel for the community on which the park and center were built. Winchester has been the heart of performing and visual arts for Clark County Parks and Recreation since 1991. Along with diverse youth and adult programming in dance, theater, fitness, poetry, music, and visual arts, the center offers a park, desert demonstration garden, skate park, theater, and art gallery. The gallery hosts ongoing exhibitions to highlight the talents of local artists while Clark County’s only indoor theater (220 seats) is home to an assortment of music, dance, and theatrical performances. Nationally known musicians, vocalists and dancers, and homegrown, youth-centered drama and dance troupes, have graced the Winchester Theater stage which is the art beat of Southern Nevada.
